34 Weeks

According to (same info for weeks 33-36) Baby’s senses are continuing to improve — when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month.

According to,
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she’s born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you’ve been nervous about preterm labor, you’ll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

According to,
Your baby can – and does – respond just as a newborn would by opening his eyes while awake and closing them while sleeping. Your baby can also grasp firmly and his little fingernails may need to be trimmed shortly after birth. This month also offers more time for your baby to build antibodies and for his skin to continue to thicken. Your baby is approximately 18 inches long and weighs about 4.5 pounds. It’s wonderful to know that if your baby was born now, it has a 95 percent chance of full and normal survival with medical intervention.

How far along? 34 Weeks
Total weight gain: Approx. 33 Pounds
Maternity clothes? Maternity & comfy clothes...I’m quickly running out of clothes that fit.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep is still good
Best moment this week: Getting a lot done overall and feeling more and more ready for our girl.

Miss Anything?
Feeling comfortable in jeans.
Still feeling her all the time.

Food cravings: I’ve gone this entire pregnancy without any intense cravings. Certain foods sound really good but not something I NEED to have.  Fish would have to be my biggest craving.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still chicken
Gender: Girl

Labor Signs: Nope
heartburn has to be the worst symptom besides feeling like a whale some days.
Belly Button in or out? Still in…
Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Looking forward to: Baby's arrival! Seems so surreal at this point, I cannot wait to see her precious face & hold her for the first time. Also looking forward to purchasing the last few items we need like a stroller.

Trying out the moby wrap with my fake baby..aka a teddy bear
