11 Weeks

11 Weeks - How my baby is growing:
Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

How far along? 11 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Scary that I don't know this, but I would guess 5 pounds Weighed myself this morning and I've gained 3.5 :)
Maternity clothes? 1 pair of maternity jeans - but I haven't worn them much yet.  The belly part isn't very comfortable.  I'm still fitting in most of my pants.
Stretch marks? No, but need to invest in some good cream before it's too late.
Sleep: In the late afternoon I get pretty tired, and I toss and turn a lot at night.  Also, getting up 2-3 each night for a potty break.
Best moment this week: Making nachos last night, they were everything I've been craving on one plate. Also, buying a new cabinet/storage for our tiny, tiny bathroom.  It makes the bathroom look so much better.  Thank you Bed Bath and Beyond for your 20% off coupons!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Tuna! I NEVER craved tuna before and maybe ate it once or twice per year. Also miss Coke Zero.
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: Watermelon, I hate a huge bowl of watermelon on Sunday and it was glorious.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Meat in general and red onions.  We had Subway last night and I want to gag thinking about the red onions.
Have you started to show yet: A little bump so far - basically looks like I ate a few too many cupcakes.
Gender prediction: Girl.  On Sunday Derek told me he is now team pink!!?? We are so indecisive.
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Weekly Wisdom: Keep active even when you are tired.  I feel so amazing after a sweaty gym session.
Looking forward to: Getting a bigger bump & finding out the gender! :)

Our bathroom! One of the joys of owning an old house is having the smallest bathroom known to man.  Gotta work with what you got. :)

I gave into my craving...

I was finally able to cook this egg casserole I've been eyeing all week last night: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/hash-brown-and-egg-casserole/
I got home from the gym and decided I no longer wanted it. So, I sent my sweet hubby to McDonald's to buy me a happy meal. I've been wanting a McDonald's hamburger like no other. First off, since when did McDonald's happy meal fries become so tiny?? I thought it was some sort of sick joke at first.
Anyway, I ate my burger and it just wasn't what I remembered. I guess this is a good thing, maybe I won't want McDonald's for a long time.
Today is Friday and my best friend is in town, it will be a good day. I'm feeling like a big huge blimp :( I hope I'm just bloated but who knows.
In other news, I came home from the gym Wednesday night to a clean house and roses from Derek, my husband. He is a keeper. :)

Pregnant to 9 week catch up

Monday afternoon, December 19th, while feeling so tired I could have fallen asleep at my desk, I decided to venture out with my co-worker to the baby store to buy a pack and play for my sister who was going to be visiting for Christmas. I wanted a natural color because I watch my nephew and I thought I could possibly use it down the road. On the way home from work I texted my sister that I had bought a pack and play. She had insisted I didn't need to buy one, but I told her I could use it for my future baby. The next text from my sister was 'are you pregnant' I just laughed and said heck no.
I was late, but I was also late the last few months. I stopped by Safeway on my way home to pick up chicken noodle soup for my poor husband who was very sick. I walked by the pregnancy test aisle and tossed one in my cart for the heck of it. When I got home I took the test and walked the dog while I waited. When I came back I was absolutely shocked when I saw TWO lines. After so many negative tests I finally got my TWO LINES! I was shaking and close to tears when I burst into our bedroom where my husband was sleeping off the flu.  I was holding the test and said “I’M PREGNANT”.  He sat up and hugged me tight and could not believe it.  I took a test each morning for the next two days.  Each of them promptly confirmed that I was knocked up. :)
